Semi truck testers come three ways. Engine-specific testers cover the Volvo D12, D13 and D16, the Cummins ISX, N14 and CM870, and the CAT 3406E. Pro-kits come in 5", 5.5" and 6" for large frame and diesel turbos, with an option for a 5 ft extension line and 150 PSI regulator. Shop kits pack several sizes from 3" to 6" for shops that see different trucks. The charge air cooler pressure tester kit tests the CAC on Class 7 and 8 trucks, and the 5 ft extension kits add a shut-off valve, with or without a 150 PSI regulator. Every tester is billet aluminum. A leaking charge air cooler, boot or clamp costs fuel economy on every mile, pushes up EGTs and puts extra load on the turbo. Testing the system takes minutes and finds the leak before it turns into a breakdown, a tow and a missed load.
