Vehicle-specific boost leak testers for Sonata.
Check the engine and year in the product name, or text us a photo of your setup and we'll point you to the right kit.
Boost leak tester for the Hyundai Sonata 2.0T (Theta II turbo). The same tester fits the Kia Optima 2.0T, since both use the same engine and turbo.
It uses a 2.25" billet aluminum end cap that mounts right on the turbo inlet flange. Remove the intake pipe to reach the turbo inlet, install the tester and pressurize with the engine off, starting around 5 PSI. This tests everything the turbo pressurizes: the charge pipes, intercooler and its connections, the throttle body and the boost and vacuum lines on the intake manifold. Leaks there are a common cause of P0299 underboost on these cars. Spray soapy water on the joints to find the exact spot. See our How to Boost Leak Test guide.
