Vehicle-specific boost leak testers for Detroit Diesel 12.7L.
Check the engine and year in the product name, or text us a photo of your setup and we'll point you to the right kit.
Our Detroit Diesel tester is a 5" billet aluminum tester for the Series 60 12.7L. It fits the turbo inlet and comes with a gauge and an air fitting, so you can pressurize the whole intake side from the turbo to the head. To test the charge air cooler on its own, the CAC pressure tester kit fits 3", 3.5" and 4" hoses on Class 7 and 8 trucks and has 60 PSI gauges on both plugs. On the Series 60, the charge air cooler, its boots and the clamps are the usual leak points. A leak means lower boost, higher EGTs, more smoke and worse fuel economy on every mile. Pressure test the system, then spray soapy water along every boot, clamp and the cooler core to find it. Running a different Detroit engine, such as the DD13 or DD15? Check the semi truck page or text us and we'll tell you what fits.
