Ford testers cover two groups: Power Stroke diesels and EcoBoost gas engines. For Power Stroke trucks in the F-250, F-350 and Excursion, there is a tester for the 7.3L and one for the 6.0L and 6.4L, each with a 5 ft extension line and shut-off valve so you can add and hold air from outside the engine bay. The 30 PSI shop kits cover all three engines in one set and come with or without the extension line. For EcoBoost, there are testers for the Mustang 2.3L and the Escape 2.3L. Every tester is billet aluminum with a liquid-filled gauge. On the diesels, boot clamps and intercooler boots are the usual leak points, and on the EcoBoost cars it is often the charge pipe or a coupler. A leak test is the quickest way to track down a P0299 or a loss of power before you replace a turbo or sensor.
